WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF?

“Wellness” may be an overused hashtag, but it shouldn’t be discounted. In fact, we believe that taking care of yourself – simply taking care of yourself – is essential for mental and physical well-being.

In fact, taking care of yourself isn’t about being selfish or selfish: it’s about taking responsibility for your own health. If we do certain things that are beneficial to our body, mind, and soul, we will be more able—and willing—to support ourselves and others.

Self-care is a modern, compassionate approach to being healthy, taking care of yourself without forcing yourself to diet or go to boot camp. The goal is not to be thin and perfect, but to feel good about your life. This could mean, in addition to eating well and exercising; cultivate good relationships, be kinder and less critical of yourself and others.

Self-care activities can include just about anything that has a positive impact; prepare healthy meals, exercise, relax, be mindful, meditate, cultivate positivity and compassion, be proactive, volunteer, make green choices, be creative, walk in nature or see friends.

How to take care of yourself?

First, don’t force yourself to do everything at once. Start by doing one thing and build from there.

Perhaps to start, you can commit to ten minutes a day and work up to an hour or more: choose a pleasant space in your home, garden or local cafe – a place where you won’t be distracted. You can use the time to write, draw, knit, plan meals, read, practice yoga, or just think. You can meditate or take a walk.

Whatever act of self-care you choose to do, do it consciously. Because it is very important to call your bath with candles, your yoga, your meditation, your sport or your journal of gratitude: an act of self-care. It’s about cultivating a caring attitude toward yourself, and positive self-talk is one way to do that.

An act of self-care doesn’t have to have an end goal – sleep better, lose weight, be less stressed – but it can end up having a positive effect on the very areas you want to improve. Sometimes surprisingly.

Once you’ve decided on your first act of self-care, it’s a matter of practicing it regularly, ideally every day.

Knowledge is Power: How Home Spas Can Help You

Self-care also means educating yourself so that you can take care of your own health in the best possible way. Ways to manage stress, how to sleep better, eat the right foods for gut health, and exercise are all ways to take care of yourself.

A home spa routine is a great way to start as you can take care of your own wellness from your bathroom or living room using SOINS DE JADE products.
